Vale Marion Watt

Marion’s history with the Queens Park Golf Club spanned over more than four decades.

Marion was made an Honorary Member when the Club celebrated our 50th Anniversary and she often told people that this was the highlight of her involvement in the Club.

Her membership was never broken and she remained loyal to the Club right up until her passing.

For many years her husband Ron encouraged her to keep playing even after several health scares.

Over many years she donated trophies and delighted in presenting them to the winners.

She was an inspiration and encouraged everyone to keep playing and being involved and said that it “keeps one young at heart and fit”, a testament to her attaining the wonderful age of 102.

On her 100th birthday the ladies celebrated it with her and crowned her “Queen” of Queens Park, this was a very proud day for her.

Her other sporting love was football and she was a staunch supporter of her beloved Geelong Cats. She will no doubt be cheering them on to win the flag and shouting “Go Cats”!

She was a friend to many and we were proud to know such an incredible lady.  She will be sadly missed, especially by the ladies.

What a life Marion Jean Watt has had!
