Di Liley Doing It For Jarrod!

Well done to Di Liley, Janet Flitton and the Queens Park Ladies on organising a fundraising day last week for Challenge’s Doing It For Jarrod days. They raised $126. Great effort ladies!

About Challenge
Challenge is a not-for-profit organisation that supports children living with
cancer; and lightens the cancer journey for the whole family by providing
practical support and fun experiences 365 days of the year.
Challenge looks after the small things in and out of hospital, to bring
relaxation and a little ‘normal’ back to journeys that are anything but! We
support not only the child with cancer, but also their siblings and parents –
from the time of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Services include child and teen camps, family outings and activities,
school holiday programs, art therapy, music therapy, massage therapy,
date nights for parents, home help, toddler play group, concert and event
tickets, music and education scholarships, and holiday accommodation –
all of which are delivered to families free of charge.
Inside hospital we provide everything from iPads and gaming for kids, to
arranging visits from celebrities and sports personalities, and even make
sure a daily newspaper reaches the parents!

Jarrod Lyle and Challenge.
Jarrod’s relationship with Challenge began when he was a Challenge kid
himself and receiving support as a teenager.
Having been diagnosed with cancer three times throughout his life, Jarrod
Lyle understood the hardship that young people and their families face
when battling this disease.
As an adult Jarrod became an ambassador for Challenge, and Jarrod’s
Gift is the legacy created in his honour. All monies raised through
#DoingItForJarrod go towards his goal of helping Challenge provide
practical support throughout a child’s cancer journey.

Leuk The Duck
Challenge’s mascot, Leuk The Duck© was designed by world renowned
cartoonist Mark Knight, and David Rogers, CEO of Challenge.
Leuk, short for Leukaemia, creates awareness and supports children and
families living with cancer around the world.
In his role as ambassador for Challenge, Jarrod Lyle proudly wore the
Leuk badge and displayed Leuk wood and putter covers on the world
stage.
A range of Leuk The Duck merchandise is available from Challenge, with
all proceeds going to help Challenge provide support to children and their
families living with cancer.
