Club Update – Irrigation Upgrades

Queens Park Golf Course Update – from the City of Greater Geelong

We’re writing to tell you about an exciting new project that we’re hoping to start later in the year to improve playing conditions at the Queens Club Golf Course.

After close consultation with the Queens Park Golf Committee, we have decided to replace the existing irrigation system for the Queens Park precinct.

The new system will be more efficient and sustainable and will provide water to a greater depth. The result will be greener and more consistent surface in all playable areas of the course.

These changes will have some short-term impacts for the course, driving range and wider precinct. However, in the longer term, it will reduce water waste, repairs and maintenance costs.

To minimise the inconvenience to members, we’ve broken the project into three phases. The first phase will start later this year, with $743,000 already allocated to the project. The rest of the work will be completed in the next financial year. A plan of the project will be available for viewing at the clubhouse.

The project will go to tender shortly and we will keep you informed as the project develops.
