DAILY COMPETITIONS

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • Before starting play in any competition a player must register her intention to compete by paying an entry fee and completing the registration process on MiClub screen to receive a printed scorecard. After play, printed scorecards are to be scanned and scores confirmed before submitting card to collection point.
  • On partner competition days score cards will be pre-printed.
  • Alternate use of Mi-Score App as required.
  • All players are required to use our book system to enter a nine hole competition.

  • Unless changed by the match committee.
  • Correct handicap together with player’s and marker’s signatures must be shown on completed card prior to submitting for competition.
  • Ladies wishing to play competition must play within the allotted “Club” times.
  • If the player does not comply with these conditions she is not eligible to receive a trophy but her score must be accepted for handicap purposes.
  • Anyone wanting to play nine holes must play at the end of the field.
  • A player cancelling from a 4BBB or partnered event is obliged to and MUST notify her partner.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system. (Loser of Countback to receive a ball)

SATURDAY:

  • minimum 7 players needed for a competition. Less than 20 players, only ONE trophy, at Match Committee’s discretion.
  • Division 1: 0 – 20 handicaps,   Division 2:  21– 54 handicaps

WEDNESDAY:

  • minimum 10 players needed for a competition.
  • Less than 19 players, only ONE trophy.
  • 19 players or more, THREE trophies, or at the Match Committee’s discretion.
  • Division 1: 0 – 20 handicaps, Division 2: 21 – 28 handicaps,
  • Division 3: 29 – 54 handicaps. (Amended 30th December 2020)
  • Handicap divisions are based on GA Daily Handicaps and may be altered at the Match Committee’s discretion.

SCORE CARDS

  • One card per player or pair (Four Ball Event) or group (Team Event) should be made out and returned promptly after each event
  • Both player and marker must sign cards. Please endeavor to present clean, clearly written and understandable cards.
  • Each player should keep their fellow competitors cards and enter the score after each hole. All cards must be returned for Handicapping purposes.

Please Note: Members playing a course and not returning a card may be deemed to have had a Scratch Round and be handicapped accordingly.

DISQUALIFICATION

  • A player who NCR’s (No Card Returned) or is disqualified is NOT entitled to:-
    • Trophy of the Day
    • Ball Competition
    • Eclectic or Putting
    • Ongoing multiple day events.
  • However, a player who is disqualified IS entitled to prizes won prior to her disqualification which include:
  • nearest the Pin
  • Gobblers
  • Birdies
  • Eagles
  • Hole in one
  • 9 Holes out or 9 holes in, whichever is applicable.

GUESTS

  • Guests from other clubs may play six times a year in club competitions as approved by the President or Captain on each occasion.
  • In the event of a guest having a winning score she will be presented with the trophy allocated for that day.
  • A guest is not eligible to win a major trophy, monthly medal or club championships.
  • A guest must be a member of an affiliated club and hold a current GA handicap or a current Club handicap.
  • B. A member playing with a guest in a fourball major event can only win the trophy of the day.

NEW MEMBERS

A lady waiting to be accepted as a member may, in the interim, put in cards towards obtaining a handicap and as soon as she becomes a financial member she may enter competitions providing three (3) cards have been submitted.

MARKING CARD

A new member may mark a competitor’s card provided she herself is a financial member of any Club affiliated to GA.

EAGLES

Six golf balls to be awarded to recipient of an Eagle on a par 4 or 5 (except in Ambrose or Foursome event). Trophy to be awarded at the Annual Presentation.

HOLE IN ONE

The recipient to receive a hole-in-one trophy on any competition day, on a par 3 recipient will receive six golf balls.

BALL POOL

Entry of 50c is included in Wednesday and Saturday competition fee.

ONE ball given per 4 players.

NEAREST THE PIN

The ball must lie on the putting surface.

There will be 3 Wednesday and 2 Saturday nearest the pins in each competition at the Captain’s discretion.

GROSS EVENTS

Gross events will be held on Wednesdays for Divisions 1, 2 and 3 and Saturdays for Divisions 1 and 2, as in the Fixture Book, unless this condition is changed at an annual general meeting.

NINE HOLES OUT, NINE HOLES IN TROPHIES

When there is nine hole out and nine hole in on Wednesdays and Saturdays NTPs will be reduced.

TROPHY DONORS

Ladies’ Committee requests that trophy donors do not accept their own trophy as a matter of etiquette.

ECLECTIC, BIRDIES AND PUTTING

  • To be recorded on birdies sheet during stroke & putting days specified in the fixture book. Eclectic score is the lowest score obtained at each hole on the rounds played, producing an 18-hole score. The final score for the holes is subject to deduction of ½ the player’s handicap held on the last day of the competition.
  • BIRDIES may be entered anytime on the birdie sheet, except during AMBROSE, 4BBB and FOURSOMES.

Wednesday –                       Best Gross, Best Nett, Birdies and Putting.

Wednesday-                        Putting – 9 rounds.

Saturday –                           Best Gross, Best Nett, Birdies and Putting.

Saturday-                            Putting – 9 rounds.

 

  • One player winning both Gross and Nett – Player will receive the Gross Trophy and next best nett score player will receive the Net Trophy as per calculation.
  • Nett trophy – calculated by taking ½ handicap at time of last round.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Trophies to be supplied by the Club.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.
  • Current Season – runs from First round of Eclectic in January to Final round of Eclectic in September/October unless otherwise stated in Conditions of individual Trophy.

THE GOLDEN PUTTER

  • Best 3 rounds of PUTTING from 18 hole STROKE events as specified in fixture book.
  • Golden Putter to be open to all Lady Members.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system on the best 18 holes.
  • Trophy to be supplied by the Club, winners name inscribed on the PUTTER displayed on the club wall.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.
  • Ongoing Club events which include Wednesdays & Saturday may be entered only once. A player must nominate the day of choice prior to start of play. If no indication is made on the day of play, the player will automatically be entered on the first day of this competition.

LYN MALLETT GOBBLERS TROPHY

  • The most GOBBLERS in the current season. The ball must be holed out from off the green with any club.  May be recorded during partner rounds.  Includes both Wednesdays or Saturdays.
  • If more than one winner, there is to be a “gobble off” (off the green) – 6 balls each to play into or nearest the hole.
  • To be Refereed by the Captain or Match Committee representative.
  • Trophy to be donated by Lyn Mallett.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

This is a 3 x 18 hole gross STROKE event in 5 Divisions, with play to be from the permanent markers.

QUALIFICATIONS TO ENTER

  • Player’s must be full financial members of the Queens Park Golf Club Inc. and hold a current GA handicap.
  • Member must have played and returned cards played at Queens Park Golf Club in no less than 3 singles competition games from January 1st of the current year and up until 1st round of the championships.

RULES OF PLAY

  • All players must be ready to hit off 15 minutes prior to their time allocated. If late they will be disqualified from the Championships but may enter the daily competition, playing at the end of the field, at the match committees’ discretion.
  • In the event of a tie in all divisions, a sudden death playoff from the 1st hole, on the final day of the Championships will be played. Match Committee to arrange for referees in the case of a play-off in all Divisions.
  • In the event of a tie for the runner-up in any division, it shall be decided by a Countback on the final round, as recommended by GA.
  • First and second weeks will be drawn one week prior to the lst round.
  • The third round will be seeded.
  • Tee times drawn are not interchangeable.
  • Should cancellation occur the next name drawn shall fill the vacancy in all 3 rounds.

TROPHIES

All Grade Trophies (A, B, C, D and Senior Grades)

  • Winner
  • Runner Up
  • Trophy to be supplied by the Club.
  • Names will be engraved on the Cup and must be returned to the Club before the Annual Presentation.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

LILLIAN HOBBS TROPHY

  • Singles MATCH PLAY KNOCKOUT.
  • Play to commence from 1st tee. Play off PERMANENT RED MARKERS. (Players MUST notify Pro-shop prior to playing.)
  • Matches can be played Saturdays, at any time including Club competition. However, matches can be played before or after competition on Wednesday. Captain must be notified.
  • Handicap allowance. The number of strokes given is the full daily handicap difference. Where the full daily handicap difference exceeds 18, players should receive 2 or 3 strokes per hole, where applicable.
  • The player whose name is at the top of the draw is responsible for arranging that match and has the honor.
  • 1st match must be PLAYED by June 1st
  • 2nd match must be PLAYED by July 1st
  • 3rd match must be PLAYED by August1st
  • 4th match must be PLAYED by September 1st
  • 5th match must be PLAYED by October 1st (if required).
  • The final match must be played by October 30th or at the Match Committee’s discretion. (If required) All dates are at the discretion of the Match Committee.
  • If above matches are not PLAYED or walkover is not granted by above dates, both players will be disqualified.
  • It is the responsibility of both players to contact the Captain of the day before the commencement of the final match.
  • If match all square after 18 holes, a sudden death playoff applies. Strokes to be given as previously.
  • Captain or person nominated by the Captain to referee the final round.
  • Trophy to be supplied by the Club.
  • Winners name to be inscribed on the Cup and must be returned to the Club prior to the Annual Presentation.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

MONTHLY MEDALS (WEDNESDAY)

  • This competition is an 18 hole stroke event and must be played off the permanent G.A. markers.
  • In the event of a tie, it must be a playoff, and must be played on or by the next stroke/ Medal Day. This is arranged by the Captain, Vice-Captain or Match Committee.
  • 20 Players required for a Medal Competition.
  • Seven (7) Medals per year – Course conditions permitting.
  • This event is open to all Queens Park Golf Club financial lady members who hold a current GA handicap.
  • Trophy Club Medal.
  • Presented on the day of competition.

MAY McAUSLAN TROPHY (MEDAL OF MEDALLISTS)

  • 18 hole STROKE for the 7 medal winners as specified in the fixture book. Qualifiers must not play in the same group.
  • In the event of a tie, a playoff to be held at the next stroke round at Captain, Vice-Captain or Match Committee’s discretion.
  • The trophy is the Perpetual Cup to be inscribed and held for twelve (12) months. Winner’s name to be inscribed on the board displayed in the club house. Small trophy to be supplied by Club for winner to keep.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation. Perpetual Cup to be returned at the end of the twelve months.

PRESIDENT’S TROPHY

  • Best GROSS score in the current season – as in Fixture Book.
  • Wednesday and Saturday inclusive (the course must be 67 Par).
  • To be played off the permanent markers.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be supplied by the Club.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

CAPTAIN’S TROPHY

  • This is a Stroke event. It is a three round NET AGGREGATE as specified in the fixture book.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system on the best card to be applied.
  • Trophy to be supplied by the Club.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation

PLEASE NOTE:

Ongoing Club events which include Wednesdays & Saturdays may be entered only once.  A player must nominate the day of choice prior to start of play.  Players entering on a Wednesday are not eligible to enter on a Saturday & vice versa.  If no indication is made on day of play, the player will automatically be entered on the first day of this competition.

JANET SHARP TROPHY

  • AGGREGATE of the three best NETT stroke rounds on days specified in the fixture book – to be played in conjunction with the Club Championships.
  • In the event of a tie, as per G.A. recommended Countback system over all three rounds.
  • Trophy to be donated by Janet Sharp.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

RITA AND KRISTY ZENK TROPHY

  • AGGREGATE of the three best GROSS stroke rounds on days specified in the fixture book. Trophy to be rotated through A, B & C Divisions annually, with Divisions as follows:

Division A –   0 – 19

Division B – 20 – 29

Division C – 30 – 54

  • The handicap of a player in the first round will determine the Grade of the player.
  • To commence with Division B in 2021
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system, over all three rounds.
  • Trophy to be donated by Rita Zenk.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

LIFE MEMBERS’ TROPHY

  • The best overall score PAR as specified in the fixture book.
  • Wednesday and Saturday inclusive.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be donated by the Club
  • Name to be inscribed on the Shield by the Club.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation. The Shield is to be returned in time for the next annual Presentation.

DOROTHY MacLEOD MEMORIAL VETERNS’ TROPHY

  • Best NETT score in STROKE event on the day specified in the fixture book.
  • Competitors must be 60 years of age or over on the day of competition.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be donated by Mesdames J. Rigg, J. Doherty, G. Hassett, S. Smith.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

QUEENS PARK SHIELD

  • This is a 4BBB STABLEFORD event on the days specified in the fixture book. Wednesday & Saturday.
  • In the event of a tie, as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Supplied by the Club.
  • Shield on Club wall to be inscribed by the Club.
  • Winners must be financial members of Queens Park Golf Club to have name engraved on Shield.
  • A member playing with a guest in a fourball major event is ineligible to win
  • This event may be entered on Wednesday and Saturday, with the same partner or a new partner.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

LOIS BUNGE TROPHY

  • 4BBB STROKE, as specified in the Fixture Book.
  • 9 Holes OUT and 9 Holes IN.
  • In the event of a tie, as per GA recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be donated by Lois Bunge.
  • Presented on the day of play.

ARTHUR & JANICE BINNS PERPETUAL TROPHY

  • TWO PERSON AMBROSE – select own partner, Saturday only as specified in the fixture book.
  • Place within one club length of chosen ball. Ball may be putted out.
  • In the event of a tie, as per GA recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be donated by Arthur & Janice Binns.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

IRENE ADAMS TROPHY

  • This is a three round 4BBB STABLEFORD AGGREGATE event as specified in the fixture book.
  • Players must change partners for each round
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system over all three rounds.
  • Trophy to be donated by Irene Adams.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

MARION WATT SHIELD

  • Best NETT score from Official Opening Day as in the fixture book Wednesday and Saturday.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be donated by the Watt Family.
  • Names to be engraved on Shield in the Clubhouse
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

GAYLE CONNOR TROPHY

  • Best overall score over 3 rounds of STABLEFORD as specified in the fixture book Wednesday and Saturday.
  • In the event of a tie, as per G.A. recommended Countback system over all three rounds. Wednesday or Saturday.
  • Trophy to be donated by Gayle Connor.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

CARA SEZUN MEMORIAL TROPHY

  • Best NETT score in Stroke events in the current season – Wednesdays and Saturdays inclusive.
  • All winners to be inscribed on Trophy. No Countback will be done.
  • Trophy to be inscribed by the Club.
  • Trophy(ies) to be donated by Carole Doran.
  • In the event of more than 3 winner’s trophy donor to be consulted.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

LIZ RABBAS HANDICAP TROPHY

  • Wednesday and Saturday ladies who have most improved handicap in the current season
  • To be worked out as follows:-

30-54 handicap                 3 points per stroke

19-29 handicap                 4 points per stroke

Scr-18 handicap               5 points per stroke

  • Commencing First Day of Eclectic in January to last week, (7 days) prior to the annual presentation.
  • In the event of a tie, Exact Handicap wins e.g. 30.2 wins over 30.3.
  • Trophy to be donated by Liz Rabbas
  • Winners name to be inscribed on the trophy by the Club.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

WOMEN’S ORDER OF MERIT TROPHY

  • Overall highest number of points gained throughout the season allocated from qualifying GROSS, NETT, STABLEFORD and PAR women’s events. Wednesday and Saturday
  • In the event of a tie GA recommended Countback system on final Wednesday or Saturday round in the season.
  • Trophy to be donated by Sue McLean
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

LUCY STONE TROPHY

  • AGGREGATE of the three best eligible NETT Stroke rounds completed during the season, Wednesday competition only.
  • In the event of a tie, as per GA recommended Countback system over best three cards.
  • Trophy to be donated by Lucy Stone.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

P & G. ESLER SATURDAY MEDALS

  • NETT event over 18 holes.
  • Must be played off the Permanent markers.
  • Seven (7) medals per year as shown in the Fixture Book
  • A member can only win one medal in each year.
  • All medal winners are eligible to play for the Medal of Medallists as shown in the Fixture Book.
  • Qualifiers must not play in the same group unless it is unavoidable, due to the numbers of players in the field.
  • In the event of a tie, a play-off on the first available stroke round
  • Presented on the day of play

TIE FOR MEDAL OF MEDALLISTS:

  • If there is a tie then players may arrange a play-off to suit both players, prior to the end of the current season.
  • Seven (7) medals will be supplied by P. & G. Esler.
  • The Medal of Medallists name to be inscribed on the Board by the Club.
  • The Medal of Medallists trophy to be donated by P. & G. Esler.
  • Medal of Medallists trophy to be presented at the Annual Presentation.

9 HOLE COMPETITION

  • To be held on Wednesdays during Competition times.
  • Competition is STABLEFORD
  • Entry fee – $4.00 per entry
  • Entry to be made in the 9 Hole Book provided
  • All players must play at the end of the field off the same tee. e.g. 1st OR 10th as decided by the tee steward and must be recorded as stableford points regardless of the event of the day.
  • This competition is handicapped
  • Ball or balls to be given at the discretion of the Match Committee taking into account the number of players.

MARION HOST TROPHY

  • Competition is PINEHURST, as specified in fixture book.
  • In the event of a tie, as per GA recommended Countback system.
  • Trophies donated by Marion Host.
  • Presented on the day of play.

WATACH FAMILY TROPHY

  • This is a 3 x 18 hole gross STROKE event in two divisions, with play to be from the permanent markers.
  • As specified in the fixture book.
  • Saturdays only.
  • Two divisions will be established by dividing the entry field evenly on 1st day of competition or at Match Committees discretion.
  • Divisions to be reviewed annually.
  • Player’s must be full financial members of the Queens Park Golf Club Inc. and hold a current GA handicap.
  • In the event of a tie in both divisions, a sudden death playoff on the final day of the Competition. Match Committee to arrange for referees in the case of a playoff in both Divisions.
  • Trophy to be donated by Louise Watach.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

LYN MALLETT TROPHY

  • Best overall score over 2 rounds of STABLEFORD AGGREGRATE in a handicap range of 30 – 54. As specified in the fixture book. Wednesday and Saturday.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system over the 2 rounds.
  • Trophy to be donated by Lyn Mallett.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

ENCOURAGEMENT TROPHY

  • Best overall score from three rounds – one NETT, one PAR, one STABLEFORD, as specified in the fixture book. Wednesday & Saturday.
  • NOTE: All scores converted to Stableford points.
  • Open to new members who joined Queens Park on or after the first day of previous season commencement of eclectic in January, to final eclectic round in current season.
  • In the event of a tie as per G.A. recommended Countback system.
  • Trophy to be donated by Jane Simpson.
  • Presented at the Annual Presentation.

SELECTION OF PENNANT TEAMS

Ladies are eligible for selection to Pennant Teams by placing their names on a list placed on the notice board.

The Captain of the day to then approach any players she thinks should be considered, if their names do not appear on the notice board.

Teams to be selected one month prior to commencement of the Pennant season to allow for team Captains to be selected, practice matches to be held and arrangement of teams to be finalized.

DISTRICT COMPETITIONS

Betty Kernot Foursomes:  This event is named in the honor of Miss Betty Kernot.  Each club can submit two teams. The combined handicaps of each team cannot go below 20 and or higher than 50.

The players are chosen by the Match committee. Each player chosen to represent Queens Park Golf Club in the Betty Kernot Foursomes will receive a golf ball from the Club.

Rene Austin Brooch: This event is named in honour of Rene Austin and is played in conjunction with the SWGA Ladies District championships.  The entrant for this competition does not have to be an A grade player.
