Mens Club Championships

The Men’s Club Championships commence this Saturday 10th May.

The existing Temporary Local Rule regarding Preferred Lies which are currently in place, will remain in place for the duration of the championships. This Temporary Local Rule, together with our Standard Local Rules can be found on the noticeboard outside the office at the clubrooms. Please familiarise yourselves with these rules prior to commencing the first round of the championships.

Grading allocations for the championships will be based on 

GA Handicap Grading at commencement of first round

  • A Grade (12.4 and under)
  • B Grade (12.5 to 17.4)
  • C Grade (17.5 to 22.4)
  • D Grade (22.5 to 54.0)

Please note that new members who have been members for less than 6 months are not eligible to play in the club championships. These members are however encouraged to still play in the daily Saturday competitions which will continue to be run concurrently with the championships.

Club Members who have not returned at least 10 individual competition scorecards, or at least 5 for juniors (which can include club pennant representation), since the last club championships, are also not eligible to play in this year’s championships.

The Senior Club Champion will be the player aged 70 or older (as at the commencement of the first round) with the best gross score over the first 3 rounds of the championships.

A Junior Club Champion will only be declared if there are 2 or more juniors (i.e. under the age of 18) competing in the championships. The Junior Champion will be the player with the best gross score over the first 3 rounds of the championships. 

Club members who are playing in the club championships will also be entered in the daily Saturday competition. Please note that prize gradings and NTP’s for these daily competitions will be based on the usual 3 Saturday grades using your daily handicap.
